Discovering the ethnographic films of George Murer was one of the great delights of bringing this project together. George is working on his PhD at CUNY, and for years has traveled the world making independent, experimental, ethnographic films - most recently about the traditional and modern music in Kurdistan, Badakhshan, Khorasan, and across the Indian Ocean.
